The Helis Foundation Digital Systems Lead at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation (NOJHF) collection consists of over one million digital files that are integral to the cultural and musical history of New Orleans. The files include audio from the 1973 Jazz Fest, videos of Foundation events, historical and iconic photographs, and business records that document WWOZ’s stratospheric growth.
In August of 2020, with support from The Helis Foundation, the NOJHF hired The Helis Foundation Digital Systems Lead position to implement and manage this ongoing, monumental digital preservation project. The Lead has been charged with creating an inventory of the millions of digital files in order to ensure the safety and easy public accessibility of this critical historical material for future generations.
