The Ogden Museum of Southern Art is now accepting submissions for the 2020 edition of Louisiana Contemporary, Presented by The Helis Foundation. Submissions opened on Wednesday, April 8 and will remain open until Friday, May 29.
Louisiana Contemporary, Presented by The Helis Foundation, was created by Ogden Museum in 2012 as a creative channel that would spotlight Louisiana artists and feature the enterprising variety of art throughout the state. This year’s featured exhibition artists will be selected by guest juror, René Morales, the director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at Pérez Art Museum Miami.
This Louisiana-centered exhibition celebrates contemporary art in Louisiana and gives a showcase space for the art of many talented Louisiana contemporary artists’ to be viewed and engaged with. The intention for the exhibition is for audiences to recognize and respect the rich visual arts culture of Louisiana and the importance of New Orleans as an international arts hub.
Submission to the exhibition can be done online or through mail. There is a non-refundable submission fee of $40 and three entries are permitted per artist. There is a $10 fee per every additional entry if an artist would like to enter more than three submissions.
